Let what you love to do make you money...
What types of hobbies can be turned into online businesses?
People start successful businesses based on what they like to do. A stay-at-home mom who liked to play with Photoshop turned that talent into a product she sells online. A dentist interested in marketing techniques wrote an e-book for how to help dentists get more clients.
First, ask yourself:
1. Are you passionate about your hobby?
2. Would you like to work at it for several hours a day?
3. Are there other people in the world who might be interested in it or the product of it?
4. Is there a way you can turn your knowledge into a product that would fill a common need or desire?
How do you get started?
After figuring out what you might like to do, create a product to fill the need. For example, if you love golf, write an e-book on “How to Improve Your Golf Score in 30 Days,” or if you love to cook, “Quick One Dish Meals to Feed a Family of 5.” Today’s consumers are all about convenience and quality. Offering good quality products is ideal for our busy society. Your customers can shop from the convenience of home for your products.
How to make the Internet work for you.
Learn first to outsource to others the things you do not do well. A lot goes into a successful online business and nobody is an expert at everything. Manage your time so that you are working on what creates money. That’s probably not building a website, (unless, of course, building websites is your hobby and you decide to make money at it). Provide good customer support (helps word of mouth advertising).
One entrepreneur signed up for every direct email list he could find (talk about junk mail). He studied every offer and called the 800-numbers to learn what businesses were doing to create sales and how to get people to buy. He became very successful and writes books about doing what you love to make money.
